Connor Roff has today dropped a enigmatic take on what is arguably Jeff Buckley’s best, most beautiful track, ‘Lover, You Should’ve Come Over’. Roff ditches the noisy textures of the original introduction and replaces Buckley’s shimmering acoustic guitar chords with restrained, delicate piano. Instead of a hectic climax full of countermelodies and dissonance, Roff favours something more ethereal, layering angelic backing vocals beneath a powerful lead vocal.
